IT is a sackable offense only if they can prove that you have done it repeatedly and more importantly they have given you two formal warnings about it in the past, and you have never improved...
If they have, you could be screwed, as it is a Health and Safety regulation...

I think you should make it clear to them that you were sick and will definitely not make the same mistake. If they suspend you and this is a one time offense that does not sound very fair. Go talk to your boss and let him know that you were ill at the time.
I can not understand someone being suspended for a one time thing like this. I think employees do not have a right to suspend you and keep you from making a living. Either they think you are an asset and capable of making a mistake as you are only human or if they are not satisfied with your work then they need to let you know. May be you need to find a more reasonable employer in future who is not so quick to punish.

No its not a offence i mean my compamy we use our id as swipe to time in time out and whats you swipe that your in its ok only thing is our company is access control place so each department you go to you have to swipe to get a door open and once you sick all you do you could go to the company's nurse or leave a note stating you gonna get something coz your not well so they shouldn't sack you for something like that if their gonna coz illness can just take anyone suddenly.

its not sackable not even suspendable. u need to talk to your boss and explain the situcation. u where sick and out of it. it was an honest mistake. if that doesnt work i would take it above their head and to the next level. this could bee a good E.O complaint for you.

Well you could just say you weren't thinking straight because you were so ill. If it hasn't happened before they shouldn't have any grounds to sack you. You'll probably get a written warning at the most.

No, I doubt you're the only one who's ever forgotten. If they have you on camera, they know what time to stop your clock.
