Because they only use the word "friend" but actually not applying the real meaning of being friends.
Those who are jealous of each other but still like being together are the mortal enemies. They keep spying each other and for anything that the other person might hurt will use against the other one.

There is a difference between JEALOUSY and ENVY .....
My opinion is that it's OK for friends to be envious .... it's a form of compliment ..... I have been envious of friends before ..... not in the way of I wished I could have what (whatever it was) they had and they didn't.... but in the way of I was glad/pleased for them and just wished I had similar luck .... but JEALOUSY is a different matter .... it's about greed and malice and backstabbing and two-facedness ... there is no such thing as a Jealous friend..... those people are never friends - only masquerades to get close to you to try to mimic/take what you've got .... if you recognise any of the above in you group of 'friends' be very aware of the difference and act accordingly ..... you could either save yourself a friendship or save yourself a lot of grief and loneliness ......

If they are good friends they shouldn't get jealous. If they do get jealous they are probably not worth having as a friend!

Insecurity! Especially at a young age. We are always looking for love elseware and see everyone, even our friends, as competition. Our own vulnerability and insecurity allows us to believe that we have to compete for everything. Learn to love and respect yourself and you'll never be jealous of anyone!

that i think is one of the mysteries of life. I get jealous of my best friend and i can admit that. I dont know why but i just do. I know for a fact that she get jealous of me also. its just natural i guess? but talk your friend if it gets reali bad.

because you think of yourself at the same level as your friends, even if they are much more talented than you in a certain area (and Visa verse). you feel you should be able to get what they have.

A FRIEND ISNT SUPOSSED TO GET JELOUS OF YOU IF THEY ARE A TRUE FRIEND THEY ARE SUPPOSSED TO BE HAPPY FOR YOU EXSPECIALLY YOU GET STUFF YOU NEVER GOT BEFORE. MAYBE LATER YOU COULD BUY YOUR FRIEND ONE LIKE YOURS IF YOU HAVE MONEY ENOUGH. OR SHARE THE THING YOU GOT MAYBE FRIEND WONT BE JELOUS.
