I've noticed that there are two abandoned tube trains on a track in Fairchild St. near Liverpool St station? What is the deal with that?!

Any other places you know of?

Well there are the two fake buildings in Kensington where the Circle line runs under the street.
They were build to look like the buildings either side, but from behind you can see that its just a brick wall. Most people who walk by them don't even know.

There are over 40 tube stations that have disused platforms or are entirely abandoned now, including some that were never actually completed.

Check out this site for good info on the abandoned tube stations:

The most recent would be Shoreditch will has now permanently closed as part of the extension to the East London Line. Before that I think it was Aldwych (on the Strand) which was a stub off of the Picadilly Line.

Also try this site:

Hope that helps.

Actually I just re-read your question. Do you mean the two old tube carriages that are stuck on old shipping containers?
I saw something about this in Icon magazine. Its some design agency who are trying to do something cool with living architecture or something and have some cool and quirky work space. Will see if I can find the article again.

Another update:
I think what you are talking about is this project:

They are re-using former rolling stock to convert to affordable working space for start-ups.

If you go to the London Transport Museum shop in Covent Garden they sell a book about abandoned tube stations. There is another near Brompton Oratory, one across from Hyde Park, and there used to be a British Museum station.

You used to be able to walk from Liverpool Street to Hackney along the line of what is going to be the East London Line.
