Its no wonder people buy pirated films and albums when big business continue to rip us off with the constant high prices of their goods when they are sold for about half the price in America.

Dont you think they would sell more if the dvds and albums were a more realistic price?

Say £6.99 for a new film and £4.99 for a new music album.

I'm 1 of the bad people that do buy pirated dvds, but only of the films that i wouldn't really waste my money at the cinema for, the major blockbusters really need to be seen on the big screen. Thats why they spend millions making them.

Well, I agree that DVDs and albums aren't cheap at all. That's why you can get a pirated DVD for cheap. However, many pirated DVDs aren't of a good quality at all.

On the other hand, Film industries earn billions of pounds, so they definitely should lower the prices. They afford to.

I agree. They probably would sell more if they lowered their prices, but people will go for cheap alternatives. I borrowed a pirate DVD from a friend once, never again. The quality was SO bad it was terrible. I'd rather buy the real thing then I know I'm going to enjoy the quality of picture and sound.

I've been wondering the same thing. I haven't bought a movie or music for close to 10 years. Some will say 'they will stop making music and films if we keep getting them free' but this is nonsense because the artists and directors and such make so much money anyways that it won't matter. Also, they should be making music and films for those to enjoy, profit not being the main concern. Songs on itunes are a dollar a piece...who in their right mind would do that when they can just download quickly and freely?

its obvious why they buy pirated DVD's and Albums - THEY ARE CHEAPER! if your lucky then you might get a DVD or album which is of a really good quality, some of them are really crap quality but i agree with you on the price, i know some of them are quite expensive when they are released but you also have to note that the artist and actor/actress also put a lot of work into making movies and making good music!

i think pirated movies are awesome.

especially if your living in a 3rd world country. think aobut it... you can't get the good theater view, and there are no theaters around... so what do you do? you buy pirated movies! and when the police don't stop you... that's even better! because even at their homes they have pirated movies!

piracy really benefits 3rd world country people. but, shouldn't be done in america because of course it's a crime. but, if you do it where it's not illegal... then it's perfectly fine!
