speed = 55km/h = 275/18 m/s
distance 250 + 520 = 770m
time = distance/speed
= 770*18/275 Seconds
= 50.4 seconds

I'll see if I can do it without considering thre hint.
55km/h = 55*(5/18) m/s
= 275/18 m/s
= 15.2777777777777777...
= 15.27777778 m/s (approx)
It travels 15.27777778 meters in one second
Time taken to cross platform = Total distance/Speed of train
= (250 + 520)/15.27777778
= 770/15.27777778
= 50.399999999999... seconds
= 50.4 seconds (approx)

It's almost been done for you. The hint tells you to add 250m and 520m, but since the speed is in km/h you should convert this distance to km.

Then use Time = distance/speed. Remember that will give you the time in hours, so you may wish to multiply by 60 to convert it to minutes.

t = (L(train) + L(platform))÷speed
= (0.25 + 0.52) ÷ 55
= 0.014 hours

= 50.4s
