There are several methods, but two of the easiest would be to either buy the wax filler sold at woodcraft stores )t's a name brand chain that caters exclusively to wood works or any real wood-worker supply stores for the serious wood workers(they have a realistic assortment that will honestly match your floor color). The wax is abit different that the crayon markers sold at Lowes or Home depot in that it will harden a bit and dry, so you don't track it around on the rest of your floor. Once you use the wax, buff it out with something like Pledge, or even a floor wax for the best protection. The other method, if the sratch isn't too deep, is to get one of those "markers" at Lowes or elsewhere that dries just like a magic marker. But be careful, the colors are limited, and if it doesn't match your color, it will stand out, especially if it is darker. I think unless you have some exotic flooring though, you can find a "common" wood type, i.e. cherry, mahogany, oak.....
There are other methods like sanding and re-staining, but this should be used for severe cases.....
Good luck

That relies upon on which portion of me you're asking. when you're asking the decorator in me, i might want to assert timber. much better sophisticated searching. when you're asking the mummy in me, I say carpet! With timber once you lay out outstanding enormous ornamental carpets, toys get shoved below or it turns right into a tent. in case your youngster falls the position the carpet isn't, it hurts better, and crawling on timber is a beast. Plus timber flooring are plenty noisier!
