The worst parasites are actually fire ants. This I can tell you from personal experience.

No I don't think that humans (generally) are the worst parasite to have ever graced this land. I wouldn't know from an objective point of view which specific species have caused the most damage and how you would actually rate them. But I'm going to blame the media for your cynical point of view - they always try to train us to fear and hate everyone for the violence that is going on in the world. But there are also some truly beautiful things going on in the world all the time. They just don't necessarily make the news.
