Generally speaking, girls and young women mature faster emotionally and physically than males, so younger females and somewhat older males tend to be attracted to each other. A younger man often seems immature to a woman, when the woman is, say, under 30.

When you get beyond age 30, the issue of fertility comes into play. Men are more attracted (sometimes this is subconscious) to women who at least appear to have many fertile years remaining, so they go for women who look younger (this is why women go in big for plastic surgery -- so they can appear younger). A man's fertility continues well beyond the age of forty, so age is not as big an issue for women who are looking for a partner with whom to have children.

well i once dated a guy younger by 5 years and it was the love of my life. In general, yes women are reluctant to do so: women mature earlier than men so it is rare that they find a younger mature person, women are usually looking for long term relationship which is usually not the case with young guys, and women are also afraid from "society's " opinion (family & friends) which is usually sarcastic about this issue

Women have been known to mature faster than men so dating a man younger is hard to do. A man that is 4 years older than a women is considered to be at the same maturity level as she is. For example: A 24 year old man is only as mature as a 20 year old woman. A 30 year old woman is as mature as a 34 year old man.

Generally yes and that is because society does not fully approve such a relationship. It is "normal" and "appealing" for an older man to date a younger woman but the other way around implies a "rich older woman" and a gold digger toy boy for the younger man.

Stereotypes stereotypes stereotypes.

i would love to date a younger man & have, but sometimes got slightly insecure because i felt there were a lot younger chicks that my man might be atrracted to, but they always assured me that they preferred being with me. sex with a younger man is better than with the old fogies - i'm 49 and hve been with a man as young as 37 & there were no complaints from him. i also think it takes a certain type of younger man, the kind of guy that a girl his age would not give a second glance at because he may not at first glance be your typical body-builder type of guy with a fancy car but an older woman with loads of experience will look past the surface and appreciate a younger guy who is sweet and sincere, especially if she's been with men in the past who were players and manipulators.

I think that would depend on the age of the woman. A woman in her 30s would be inclined to date someone in their late 20s. Men at that age have more stamina which is great for women who love the outdoors and have a tendency to need your approval as to whether they are making you happy.

I was amazed the other way around. How many young men are eager to date older women. In public you hear men mock
and depict older women but in private? Its amazing. Even women as old as 60+ can have young men as many as they can tolerate. Agism is ugly and untrue. I think many older women are smiling inside as they know the truth, young men want them.
