For one, you shouldn't have to win anything from pals. Friendship is a unconditional mutual feeling. Me, my first impression is what tells me if I want to make a friendship with this person or not.

be truthful as much as possible...truth hurts they say, but for me it erases all doubts and infidelities!
being a pal doesnt take wh you can be or what is there for you...but it is knowing that your pal wopuld be there for you no matter what!
