White's stick together, and have more sympathy for one another. They don't want to hear about slavery because they don't want to be reminded about how dumb their ancestors were. I'd be embarrassed too if I was white, lol

There are people alive today who still have memories of the Holocaust from person experience. Slavery, in the US, ended outside the range of anyone's personal experience.

Slavery was a "normal" situation for the time it occured in. (Doesn't make it right, but it was the standard of the time) The Holocaust was not.

I can't change that 150 years ago there were slaves in the US. There were slaves in LOTS of places 150 years ago. There are still people who are in conditions that are too close to slavery now, and I can work on changing that.

As to the Holocaust, it was only 60 years ago. It's physically documented with pictures, news reels, and all the paperwork the Nazi's were so good at keeping, in addition to first hand accounts. I can keep alive that abnormal (I hope) occurrence of the Holocaust, and use it to remind people what happens when they turn their backs.....

okay. this may piss alot of people off but i don't care. slavery was wrong. what happened back then shoudl not have happened but at lesat majority of the population was cared for. the holocaust was devistating. it was something horrible. the way the people were treated and the way that they had them starving and barly clinging to life. at least with slavery people were fed, tehy had clothing. sure they were not given dignity adn respect but slaves got more respect than what happened in WWI and II.

Because when slavery is brought up it's usually a segue way into an argument for why it's understandable that blacks are more prone to crime, and with the holocaust it's usually a segue way into a "how come jewish people aren't knocking over liquor stores and blaming Europe for it?"

How can you compare slavery to the Holocaust and the calculated, cold, precise massacre/annhilation of 6,000,000 people?
