I recommend that you travel to North Korea first to visit and familiarize yourself with prospective programs. Dude, you have no idea what you'd be getting yourself into. North Korea is the most repressive regime on the planet. It would be much safer, you'd have a much less likely chance of being brainwashed by government propaganda, and you'd be allowed to move freely throughout the country if you go to South Korea.
