I have been happy with life for about 10 years, not that I was particularly unhappy before. Why? because I became a Christian and that helped me cope with cancer, high blood pressure, a skin problem and an allergy. You would think I might be a little depressed, but no, I am very content with life. And I've got news for you, there is life after 30 and 40 and 50 and even 60!, I know, because I am 67 and a widower, my lovely wife died of cancar at 43, and I am retired, I have up to six holidays a year and go hill walking in the Lake District, often over 3000 Feet, I enjoy the canals and operating the locks. I edit and write two magazines, one for our large extended family and one for my church. I like working on my computer, but answers, now I have found it, can be addictive and I have not the time for that, I've too much to do. What helps? My faith and having a little extra money, over and about my living costs, having no credit cards goes a long way to achieving this, and a small private pension which I am able to keep, courtesy of Gorden Brown. Have a very happy day.

To Clive T above - 3000 feets not that long a walk! ;-)
To the Asker:
I'm busy as hell at the moment and my life is running like a train. Strangely, despite things being rather settled in most other respects I'm not actually that happy. I'm busy because of work and paying for stuff and building for the future. Its a demanding world we live in.
Thankfully tho - I don't live in a place where I'm getting shot at so I think about people in worst situations and thank God my life is pretty calm by comparison. There but for the grace of God go I (I hope I've used it on context!)
Alternatively: "always look on the bright side of life"
:-)

I am very happy. I had a period where I was feeling a bit torn and unhappy. And then I realised I have to see this life is mine and mine only and it is to be enjoyed. And that means taking pleasure in all its aspects: nice food, sex, beautiful days, all the interesting things to learn. Always be happy you are alive and that for most people it is better than the other option.

Yes i actually feel happy with life. I'm alive, have two great children and a content husband. why spend time being miserable when today could be the last day of my life. Lifes too short to be sad.

I'm happy in life! Being happy is about keeping perspective, being yourself, and not taking all of the good stuff in your life for granted. It's about concentrating on the positives, and dealing with the negatives. It's all a matter of how you look at things.

Yeah, I'm usually happy. I don't think that anyone will ever be 100% happy though, life has its ups and downs. On the other hand, I suppose it's achievable for the very positive.

Happiness can only be found within one self. this can only be when one has inner peace, which can only be if one has a living and intimate relationship with God. God is reality and in my own life I have found that when i am confused, unhappy and depressed, He truly is the only answer. He does not take the problem away, but he enables me to handle it. He allows me to find the solution and to cope with the strength thar Christ provides. I have found that most of the times I can do something to change my unhappiness into happiness - by changing my attitude and my perception of things. Neither can I wait for the problem to go away and to solve itself, I need to do something. sometimes it means that I must humble myself before God and others [which is not alway a pleasant thing to do!], some times I have to let go [and at times it comes back to me in a good measure]and some times I just have to understand and accept that I cannot change it and find ways to live with it!
So, yes, I do feel happy in life. I count my blessings and then I find that thenegative is always outweighed by the positive!

I'm happy! I have responsibilities too but there is always time to feel happy, usually when I'm with my husband. Life wouldn't be worth it if you weren't happy most of the time!

It is difficult, at times, for me to keep my spirits up with the things going on around me, especially the war. I am happy 85% of the time. Does that qualify? I can usually find something good in everything.
