Very simple question, downloading is when you bring a file from an outside source (internet) to your computer. Uploading is when you move a file from your computer to an outside source. Whenever you upload the original file stays on your computer, likewise when you download the original file remains at with the host.

A very easy question. Any programs and files that we get it from internet is called downloading. Any programs and files that we send or save it in the internet is called uploading.
