I really want an electric guitar. I can't play much coz i only want to play rock music. I've asked my Dad but he always says that i don't play my acoustic. I can't play it if its outta tune and my tuner is broke. How the hell can i make him see that i'm serious about playing?!?!?

Christmas is coming up. Say thing like. I sure hope Santa gets me a new guitar. Don't over do it though. Just plant some seeds then drop the issue. That way your dad will feel like he's surprising you when he gets it. Don't ruin the surprise. I did that one year. I asked all year long for a metal detector. They said NONONONONO. Then come Christmas. Yayyyyyy! Good luck! =)

I would say you can't be too serious if you can't tune an acoustic guitar without a tuner. People were playing guitars (in tune) long before tuners existed. Tune your acoustic and practice; maybe then your father will consider the electric. Alternatively, you could get a job and buy your own guitar.

Buy a new tuner for one, they're $20 at Guitar Center. The decent ones, I mean. I play in a metal band, but I learned to play different styles when I was younger. It helps you grow as a musician & incorporate it all into rock.
Play the guitar you have, get a good beginners book. Where do you live ? If you live in SoCal I can hook you up, I work at Guitar Center, I'd help you two out.

simple i used to be in the same case before here what i did... usually mom gets persuaded easier then dad. Anyways tell him the fact that electric guitar playing is easier than acoustic BECAUSE ITS TRUE!!! The frets of the electric guitar is easier to press than the acoustics... and plus electric guitars can still play acoustics for your dad just modify the amplifier... and that modify the amplifier...
but if this doesn't work here a way to persuade him to like rock
download mp3 Wildflower by Skylark an old school rock song that used to be loved by most try studing the piece wildflower show it off on your acoustic while you play the mp3 of wildflower on the background... probably he'll be impressed and starting to get the feeling of rock... later ask him to buy the electric guitar to play the song that he should like by now... Then you got yourself a pesuaded dad
note to self pick a cheap guitar he might lose the sense of wildflower...

These days you don't even HAVE to buy a tuner. You can just go online & Google a website that has soundbites of each string & you just "copy" it to tune your guitar.
No need to buy a WHOLE new guitar.
I gotta agree w/ an above reply, you did come across as a bit spoiled...

a. fix ur tuner or borrow one and play a song to him when u have got it tuned
and b. if u show him how well u play the acoustic maybe u could find away into him getting u one for christmas

play your acoustic, if its broken ask to have it fixed, get a job and buy the electric guitar yourself.........stop hassling your dad.....
