Please excuse my extreme ignorance! LOL. I’m just trying to gauge the fashion code of ethics these days. That’s all.

If you find this question offensive, please let me know too.

F.y.i., I meant - to wear only the g-string and mesh tank top (while standing in the baptism pool and waiting for the priest to perform the immersion).

P.s. I was brought up a church member (although I am a free thinker now - but that's another story). I'm asking this because I remember seeing a priest baptize a few youngsters in a swimming pool at a resort. Obviously, that would mean wearing swimsuits. So if swimwear can be OK, I was just wondering how extreme you could make it!

Good point about Evanescence, Blaarts. Good music, though.

Whoa, Sunday girl, are you sure you are not talking about Anton LaVey’s church?! LOL.

well....hmmm interesting one....on a personal level I think it'd be rather entertaining, however, if its a full immersion you'll have to get changed anyway. Also, I can't imagine it would go down too well with the priest!!! But then again...saying that.....

Hahah, surely that couldn't be a Christian with a sense of humour... I had an ex-girlfriend was a born-again Christian and I've got to say, her and her friends were the most rude, opinionated, closed minded and selfish people I have ever met - it really was outrageous. According to her and her friends (some of whom were school teachers in their 30's) I would burn in Hell come 'the day' because I chose to play football on Sunday mornings and not go to church... very strange. Anyway, what was the question again? Oh, yes - I don't see why not, everyone worships their God in their own way, I don't see why is should make any difference what you wear (but then again, I'm not a Christian). Interesting point of fact, Goth band 'Evanescence' are in fact a Christain band and look at what they wear... If you ask me, if there was no religion, there would be a lot fewer wars. I hope Christian's won't find this offensive, but it's the truth, so they probably will....

I don't think there's a 'fashion' in adult baptisms, only conventions. Swimming costume with a robe, dress or shirt & trousers over the top seems to be the norm.

To me a baptism is a bit like a wedding - the start of a new phase. It's an outward symbol of a big change in a person's life. You wouldn't want to wear the mesh tank top & g-string.

If you're going to wear swimwear, just make sure it's not white, this happened to someone i know - of course it looked nice at first but once it got wet ... you could say it looked nice in a completely different way! I guess in terms of style it depends on the people who go to the church - if they're younger or not too uptight you could probably get away with more revealing stuff. However it's always better to be overdressed than underdressed for that kind of occasion (besides, the church will prob be cold).

Most people I've seen baptised were wearing normal clothes t-shirt and jeans when they got baptised, I think if you were to wear a mesh tank top and a g-string to get baptised it would cause quite a stir lol. Some people would get very offended, others would enjoy it too much.

So, No basically. ;-)

Depends on the weight/age/sex of the person being baptised! I suggest you check what the priest and godparents plan on wearing as well - you wouldn't want to clash.

Priests should stick to vestments (during the formal part of the rite at least) but afterwards - anything goes.

You are obviously not a church goer! I cannot think of anywhere- other than possibly a fetish party- that would find that outfit acceptable! Try a shirt and trousers...

You knows it! I'd go for nipple tassles too but that's just my personal preference ;-)

You could always get a custom pair of pants that spray whipped cream into the congregation. Now THAT I would go to church for!
