You should be able to padlock your computer case to keep the internal components safe.

Ensure the computer is in a room with a secure lock on the doors and windows, perhaps with a burglar alarm system in place.

Apply pin numbers or passwords where possible to allow only the right people to use hardware.

Get your hardware security tagged by the police so that it can be traced if it goes missing.

I would suggest setting aside the spare room. Put steel bars on the windows and then go out and buy 6 one inch deep planks of wood slightly wider than the door. Remove everything else that you might actually need from the room before locking it and finally nailing it up using the planks and 6 inch nails.

You now have your life back. :-)
