I stayed for 35 years in Calcutta but i have not heard many of the schools mentioned herein by others. According to my knowledge the following schools are very good.
La Martinere school for boy s and girls separately available.
St. johns at kidderpore
South point High School
Modern High School for girls
St. Lawrence High School
St. Xavier's High School
Loreto House etc.
Had you mentioned specifically about the locality for boy or girl I would have suggested better

The school which has minimun number of holidays & students feel very bad by themselves if they dont go to school.
I dont think u find such a school in Kolkata. Out of the many any local school in ur locality is the best school. Best school is tot he student rather than to u & me.
All schools mentioned above are prominent schools, may not be good schools.

The Assembly of God Church School
its the only school with a foreign based indian adaptation teaching instituition and its really GOOD!
the all round development of a child right through Class XII is taken care of by experienced superb teachers!
