Our Malibu did. Our Cavalier also did it and we had 2 problems, which Chevy fixed. 1. There was a splice in the wiring harness going to the wheel speed sensors. When water got in there it would pop the light on. There was also a bad pin in one of the wheel speed sensors. Got those 2 things fixed and no more problems.

On cars that are equipped with ABS (anti-lock braking system) they have a gear looking ring around the drive axles or hubs on all four wheels. (I was a parts changer not a mechanic so excuse me if my parts are a little off, I do know what I mean though so I hope you can follow) Sometimes you can get something stuck in between the gear teeth and the sensor that reads the teeth to make sure all four tires are spinning at the same speed picks up a bad reading. This is usually a cheap diagnostic and fix at your local mechanic. If the light turns off after you restart the car it shouldn't be a big deal.

it sounds like a wheel speed sensor malfunctioning. The sensor is built into the hub bearing sometimes if one sensor is reading a different speed than the other that might cause the light to come on or cause the abs to work when not needed.

since it is a newer car when your abs light comes on doesnt always mean that there is an actual brake problem. can be cause due to the ecu acting up best recomendation would be take it to chevy to fix. im sure ur still under warranty.

Sometimes, like when she brakes anew on a rainy night, I will back out and drive way in, and she will discover overdrive, and sometimes I shut it down early and she asks what's wrong, Baby!

The only way to find out what the problem is ,take it to a qualified tech and have him scan it for ABS codes.
