Aside from live performances, there are two versions. One is the album version which is on their CD and the other is the video version which goes with the music video.

Theres a few Live Versions you can find on youtube.com
Theres a cd(album version)
There's a video version (acoustic)

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" is a very mellow, contemplative acoustic song, which was a vast change from the band's well-known punk sound.
Billie Joe plays an electric guitar version of the song as their traditional show-closer for live Green Day concerts, including their live performance on Bullet in a Bible.

The music video, directed by Mark Kohr, is very austere. It features Billie Joe Armstrong playing an acoustic guitar in a bedroom interjected with scenes depicting various people undergoing major changes in their lives. Band members Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool make cameo appearances in the video.

In 1998 Green Day won their first MTV Video Music Award for Best Alternative Video for "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)".[1]

The video can be found on their music video compilation DVD, International Supervideos!.
On the album version, at the beginning, Billie Joe Armstrong made a mistake, tried again and made the same mistake and in anger says "****!" in a low voice. This is often copied by accident on renditions of this song, such as on YouTube. People believe it to be part of the main song and include the mess up in their versions.
This song was included in The Seinfeld episode, The Clip Show. The episode was divided into two parts in syndication.
The chord in the beginning "mess-up" is a G5 power chord. The song is then played with an open G chord.
Billie Joe claims to have written this song in less than 10 minutes.
The song was featured in the retirement ceremony held for hockey player Wendel Clark before the season opener between the two hockey clubs: Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens, at the Air Canada Centre. The crowd proceeded to give Clark a 5 minute standing ovation as he walked out to the ice. Also, when Tony Stewart fulfilled his life's dream by winning the Brickyard 400, the song played in the background.
In the United States, the song receives frequent airplay on radio stations featuring the Soft Adult Contemporary format (a.k.a. easy listening)--an irony, given the band's punk roots.

I'm pretty sure the guys would say there are as many "versions" as the number of times they've performed it-and that ALL of them are "real".
