The only non-Biblical, historical evidence that we have for any of the gospel stories is a very short bit from the work of Josephus. Josephus, a Jewish general working for the Romans, recorded, in passing, that he had heard of a messiah, one of many, who was crucified. He identified this messiah, Jesus, by name.

So, no, unless you have a way of reading the Bible as an historical document - and you can learn a lot about the times and attitudes of the people wrote the documents that are now collected in the Bible, if not necessarily facts about history - then no, there is no record of Judas hanging himself or even existing.

Oh, and I seem to remember that in other, apocryphal, stories, there are other accounts of Judas's fate.

The reason that you can believe in the Biblical account is that at the time it was recorded there were many Jewish people that were trying to disprove the facts about Jesus if it would have been possible to cast doubt on any part of the Gospels they would have tried, but at that time Judas' death was common knowledge of the place so it was not possible for the detractors to call it a lie.
Also if it would have been the other disciples it would have gone against everything that they had spent 3and 1/2 years learning with Jesus

i don't think of he's that "undesirable". He heard who Jesus suggested he's, and did not believe it. what number of human beings in this communicate board in good structure that description? And precisely like many in this communicate board, not believing that Jesus is who He says he's, believe "faith" to be a nasty component for the international. more effective than 1/2 the human beings on the following would have achieved an same component. And "Bong Hits for Jesus" has a good aspect. Christians who understand the jobs of Judas, the Jewish religious leaders of the time and the Roman squaddies do not hate them. BTW - For all those who do not settle for who Jesus is, it could be more effective perfect for them in the adventure that that they had not in any respect been born, considering that they finally end up interior an same position as Judas.

I hear ya, man.

Me, I've sided with the alien ship / chupacabra connection, ever since I managed to break out of the asylum.

Trouble is I still see the pesky snakes climbing up my pants legs when I stare to the ground for a few hours, making me an unreliable eyewitness.
