I have tried another card but no joy. The phone says"no memory card inserted" the card i did use was a 512 mmc. ?????

Can You Re-format the card using the handset?
Or do you have a USB card Reader that will allow you to Read and format it?
Also,have you cleaned the Terminals?(They only need small particles of dirt/dust to affect connection)
Use a Pencil Eraser to rub the terminals-then try re-inserting it!
Alternatively Consult the Nokia website or the Media card manufacturer

If ur not tecnician give to service else open ur phone,trace memorycard pins make a light wash with petrol & dry it for sometime by placing at heaters.now insert card and see....i thought it should read

the cardboard won't be connecting wisely. the cardboard must be undesirable. the cardboard reader won't have been put in wisely (undesirable driving force). or you will possibly fit subject concerns. 32GB playing cards on previous 2GB card readers or so
