I only get an average of three hours of sleep at night. I have terrible nightmares and night terrors, they seem real, and i cry uncontrollably the first minute or so that I am awake, until I realize it was only a dream. It is an intense dream, and sometimes I wake up feeling what I feel in the dream, or wake up with the bruises that i recieve in the dream. It is the exact same dream, and very horriffic, I don't like going into it. I wake up every certain amount of time, hence the little sleep, plus insomnia rules me, so when I finally get close to sleep, I wake up terribly.... this has been going on for over a month, now.
I hate it.
Prayer, meditation and every suggestion I have had helps, but will not stop it, so far, I am awating the end of it.. I don't know what it means..
I hope that this is only a rare thing. I think it's just your feelings towards whatever happens in your dreams seeps through, but I am no expert. I feel the same emotions I feel in my dream, but I don't know facts or reasoning behind it...

yes, but only a few times. And it was during a very stressful part of my life, once after 9/11 actually, once after breaking up with a boyfriend, and once I had dreamed about losing my son.
You must be really worried about something, probably someone; either you miss someone greatly, or are afraid of losing someone as a friend, or in some other way. Hope it doesn't happen frequently for you. :) I know it can be very distressing.
If you talk about it, then whatever you're sad about will come up and the crying will most likely stop.

I had a dream about my Mother who
had passed away some years ago. I have no idea
why I was crying. I don't know what the dream was
about, but It wasn't tears of sadness.

Yup, I've even woken up mad at people in reality that I was mad at when I was dreaming.
Haha no big deal. Just remember it's just a dream.

I'd have to say the body and mind react to stimuli either thought or otherwise. So, something sad causes you to cry. What more could there be? De ja vou perhaps? I hope not but it's a thought.
I hope this helps...

i don't think that it necessarily means anything~i think it happens when you are really sad. it's happened to me alot and i think it really gets the crud out of your heart.but it only happens to me when there is alot of sad stuff going on in my life. maybe your bad dream made your heart sad and that made you cry. in your sleep. that's what i think anyway. it's why i get scared to sleep sometimes.

The emotions that you were experiencing in your dream made their way into reality. No big deal.
