I'd like to know how much the author earns if his book sells like 10.000 copies. let's say one copy's like 6 bucks.

how much do you have to pay to the literary agent, how much goes for the taxes, etc

thanx

I think that depends on the contract the author has with their agent and their pubishing house.

I have heard figures around the 5% mark. A very large portion goes to the retailer - 50% or so.
