Rehabilitation. How does it help society to contain a bunch of criminals, who are there for crimes of varying degrees, into the same enclosed space and then release them later as having learned their lesson because they lost their freedom for a period of time? Really? Putting a rapist and a thief into the same cell and keeping them from the world at large makes either of them a better person? Doesn't that kind of fly in the face of keeping your kids away from the "bad elements"? I don't get how that works for anybody who doesn't have a vested interest in the current penial system. Our current system needs an entire overhaul. Guards look the other way as an inmate is raped and then that person is released into the populace? I'l take intensive counselling and re-hab for that person any day. Because regardless of popular opinion, a thief and a rapist should not share the same cell, even the same yard.

Depends on the crime committed! For minor offences i'd say rehabilitation at first, for major offences ... Immediate punishment. I also believe in 3 strikes and you're out as in the U.S. Because some people will simply never learn!!!

Keeping in mind that there are those in prison who commit crimes because they like to, like the excitement, and those who are simply mean and enjoy others pain and suffering, and still others who are professional criminals and know how to make crime pay, on all of whom rehabilitation efforts are completely wasted, there are those, minor offenders usually, who have done petty things for money to survive because they have no marketable job skills and often cannot even read or write. The latter can benefit from rehabilitation programs and for that reason I am for it 100%. Any dent in recidivism is to be applauded.

this is going to be a lengthy answer, even if you settle for it or not is as a lot as you in spite of the indisputable fact that that is the actuality about Hell. #a million. Hell as you are able to draw close it,(fiery position of torment) isn't a real position. The Hebrew be conscious for hell is "Sheol" and the Greek be conscious is Hades, our english equivalent is Hell those 3 words at the instantaneous are not pertaining to an component to fiery torment yet of the problem-loose grave of all mankind. To justify this fact we'd want to seem to the Bible. Eccl. 9:5, 10 reads..."The residing are wakeful that they'll die as for the useless they are attentive to not something in any respect....All that your hand unearths to do, do with all of your might want to for there's no artwork nor devising nor comprehend-how nor understanding in Sheol (hell) the position to that you're going. (in the adventure that they are attentive to not something, they for sure experience no discomfort.) #2. If God is love how then might want to Hell (fiery position of torment) Exist? What would you imagine of a figure who held his youngster's quit a hearth to punish a baby for incorrect doing? God is love. would he do what no correct-minded figure would do? #3. At Romans 6:23 The bible says " The wages of sin is lack of existence" save that in ideas, i will come decrease back to it. If I take a chunk of paper and tear it to products with a touch tape or glue i might want to placed the piece of paper decrease back at the same time back. If I set the paper on fireplace there's no way i might want to restoration it, it could be endlessly destroyed. it really is the that technique of the Fiery hell contained in the bible, it isn't an component to eternal torment yet an component to eternal destruction, that is the grave. even as a human being dies they have the desire of a Resurrection. some who've died will be resurrected to an afternoon of judgment, some received't; they'll proceed to be contained in the grave continuously endlessly decrease off from the presence of God, without desire of eternal existence in paradise. so as you will see the wages of your sin is that you'll die now to not be plagued by technique of being endlessly burned alive.

Neither one--- there is much to be said on this subject -- enough to fill many books. In simple terms -- this is not the way -- prisons do not work, and rehabiliation is just a word.
