Yes, you are right on all counts.
Most burning software out there has the option to burn an "audio CD" and can do so using MP3 files as a source. So that's what you wanna do - burn an "audio CD".
But you can also record to tape straight from the computer, y'know. What you need is a cable that can connect to the computer's line-out or speaker jack at one end and connect to a tape recorder's aux or line in at the other end.
Then, just make sure you don't have any programs open that will make any unwanted sounds. Then you can play the MP3's in iTunes or whatever media player you use, while recording on the tape deck.

Download iTunes, create a playlist, select playlist, insert blank cd, make sure cd burning is set to audio cd, click burn disc - job done, you now have an audio cd which will play in anything.
Mp3's wont play in older cd players but some of the more modern ones will so yes you are most definately correct.

Yes you are, what you gotta do is burn an AUDIO cd as opposed to a mp3 cd. That will work on your cd player.

In my opinion if you have to manage audio (convert or rip audio files of any formats) you should download Total Audio Converter. Link here http://bitly.com/1sW2nmd
