strange timing. i received a B.A. in English Lit from a private college back in 1988. It lead me nowhere careerwise. i wanted to be a writer. i have published nothing and now have a landscape maintenance business with my husband. his dream, not mine. i work in the field with him and do our books. so now i am looking into online classes for acconting. expensive and scary to go back to school. my advice is to take your time before going to college. try to find your passion and know what you are wanting out of life.

I never paid a dime in tuition. I did a California junior college that only made me pay for books and a health fee. I transferred to my father's university and did tuition remission, again only paying for books (and not a health fee), all the way to a Masters degree in religion.
As I took my final degree, the authorities were looking at me and changed the rules, but happily grandfathered me.
When I took my final degree, I was working full time, going to school full time, drinking full time, and managed to graduate full time.
O, the delights of being smart, white, educated, and having an educated father while being a drunk.

I went to school as pre-med and changed to Psychology with a minor in chemistry. I got my B.A. and went to work in the social work field for 5 years. After that I decided it was time for a change. I went to a school for 1 year to earn Paralegal degree and went to work for Wells Fargo in Des Moines, IA. After a few years of that I am finally in Law School part-time as I still work as a paralegal. You never know if how you start school is the field you will end up in. I am 35 years old and just figured out what I want to be when I grow up.

ofcourse my degree is very much beneficial, thats y me and lot of ppl like me wasted 4 precious year for that, and every does so,if u are not agree with ur self u can ask diploma holders or ppl who have no degree,i am not saying that practical knowledge and work expereince is less important, but every thing has its own significance and so the degree also has....i am satisfied with my degree thats y i am here doing that....even i can guess ur ideal also got degree in his/her field of interest, its always better to get degree as there can be no future regrets in accordance to it...by this i mean that if in future u want to get degree and u dont have time u dont have to wait to get one and u can continue at the time of need..instead of waiting and getting it,moreover sometimes in life u need degree for eligibilty cateria also,so better is u get one and it solely depends on ur case, circumstances, environments and conditions related to only U!

my degree is in education. i currently work in corrections. i would have to say that my degree helped me even though it is not in the exact area i work in because more and more these days you cant get an interview for a job without a degree.
