I'm taking 20 units next semester at our local community college and I was wondering if anyone has done this before and what your experience was with it. I've never taken more than 12 units at a time. I don't work and just go to school.

My highest was 18, but it ended up being the highest GPA I ever had. When I was most challenged I did the best. Maybe you need to be challenged.

The most I have taken is 18, but it really depends on what type of classes you are taking. If you are taking a lot of harder courses your grades will probably suffer. If they are fairly moderate as far as the difficulty level goes, you should do just fine.

My college considered 12 - 18 credits full time, anything over that cost extra. I think it was in part to deter people from taking on too much. But it really depends on the difficulty level of the classes you are taking.

How do your units work? Is this by quarter? Also what are the caliber of your classes?
