I have a Brother MFC-3240C Printer currently hooked up and shared on my PC with Windows XP. I'm trying to get the other two MAC computers to be able to print which are hooked up via a router.

I have managed to get as far as locating the network, and adding printer name on one of the MACs. But after spooling, the printing fails or never prints. I can see the document queued on my PC, but that's as far as it goes.

What am I doing wrong? How can I get it to work?

You can actually get them to work via Windows Network (I do so myself!), but you will need to get hold of the right drivers - which for a Brother printer may prove tricky. If you can't find a driver for your exact model, you may well get at least the basic functions working selecting a driver for a similar model (which is what I had to do for my Canon iP3000).

Other than that, you could invest in a wireless print-router (best one is the Belkin - am saving for one myself) - then you just have to install the appropriate software/drivers for your printer & the print-hub on each computer - will then simply treat the printer as if it were plugged in directly, no other networking required.
