they barley get paid anything. they usually dont have enough staff if they get busy, most dont get benifits, and they haveto put up with people swearing at them if somone messes up....even if its not them. ive seen it many times...some customers usefast food workers as punching bags to vent theirstress on.

yes definitely - esp if you are the manager - most ppl treat you as if you have no intelligence at all - i was a Mc'd Assistant manager for 4 yrs - and we had to know all the times and temps for all product - holding times proper food temps and danger zones to prevent ppl becoming ill, and all the State and Federal labor laws - and yet customers would come in and dump their garbage on you as if you were a nobody.

Nah. I worked fast food as my first job and it wasn't too bad. Most people are polite. There are only real jerks once in a while. Sure, it gets busy and sometimes there isn't enough staff, but the staff just makes do. It's really no different than any other service job.

BTW, many fast food joints pay the same as grocery stores and Walmart. (that's not saying much)

And most of the people working fast food are kids and they don't care that they don't have benefits, they are still covered under their parents.

Well that is just like saying every other min wage job in the world don't get as much ****. Don't get me wrong I'm sure fast food workers put up with some ****, but so do telephone operators, cosmotologist's, and especially cashiers!! When it comes to **** I think it's cashiers that get the most s h i t. "Think about it" We are supposed to praC CUSTOMER service yet were not supposed to leave our check stand so when we try to get help for them but none of the lazy curtious clerks show up, the checkers are the one that gets the most s h i t even though it is not even our fault.

No, I actually I don't. I used to work for Taco Bell. Currently I work for an HVAC contractor. By title I'm an administrative assistant. I catch far more hell now than I did working at Taco Bell. Every day I have general contractors calling me screaming at me about issues that are outside of my realm of responsibility. At that point they are so angry that they make these issues my responsibility on top of all the other responsiblities I already have.

This is the way with customer service jobs in general. I have been cursed at, screamed at, had my life threatened, had very inappropriate sexual advances made upon....you get the idea. That was when I worked as a phone rep. I had a credit card thrown in my face when I worked at a fairly high class grocery store. People treat people they perceive as "below them" like dirt.

I'm in school to become a lawyer, and I have given my friends and family to beat me within an inch of my life if I ever get like that.

Anyone in the customer service industry deserves Kudos!

However since the whole stock and investment craze, many of the occupations out there are experiencing cutbacks in staff, pay, raises and benefits in order to accomodate for healthy share price competition.

However, I do think the food industry folks get the crappy end of the stick. Thanks for putting up with us snooty and rude customers like my girlfriend does, she can be such a B.....LOL

it is amazing how picky some people can be for a 99 cent burger. And get so P.O'd if its wrong. Don't be so mean, they are human. Try being nice if you're one those people who goes off on those poor souls. Don't expect a $12 burger for 99 cent. If thats the best job they can get then let them be. maybe they just aren't very ambitious.
