Put away all your own theology for just a moment and open up your minds. Think about it (hypothetically) say if there were no god and that nature caused our existence, and we advanced so far in science that we actually could live forever and make any lifeform or substance we wanted .....that would make us gods wouldn't it?

Well, let me put it to you this way, the day that you can single-handedly create an infinite and immeasurably vast 4-dimensional universe packed with incalculable galaxies, stars and planets, as well as parallel multiverses of 11 dimensions of an innumerable count, plus a total of 34 Transdimensions outside of this vast endoverse system, having even more infinite magnitude and Eternal properties and cluttered with realities we know nothing about, and also have the all-knowning cognitive capability to know all the goings-on throughout all these systems mentions down to the subatomic level without going insane, then I will be the first in line to bow down and worship you. But until that day, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

What makes you think you are not. Take a good look at yourself and realize what you consist of. You have a submicroscopic bit of Energy that represents your real Self. All that you can see by looking is the vehicle necessary for you to exist in this particular three dimensional universe.
Every Cell of your body is a living intelligent being unto itself. Every Cell has the ability to receive, interpret and execute commands from your central nervous system under your control. When some have trouble they pray to you. It is called "Pain". That gives you the incentive to properly care for the people necessary to your existence. When you fail to provide for them they malfunction and you die. Yes we are all gods. It is merely a matter of level. The planet Earth is the central control over all of us. Think about it and draw your own conclusions.

It depends on your view on deities. In Hawai'i, the gods lived a mortal life before their immortal lives began. In that sense, you would not be a god. From another perspective, you must first be worshipped in order to be a god. Even if you are immortal, you might not be worshipped by others, especially if they are immortal as well.

What do you mean by GOD?
Everyone does not see god the same way.
I for instance, look at god as an imagination because there is nothing that suggests his existence.

So for me, humans could never be god, they would always be something real and not something imaginary.

It depends on your definition of god.

In hinduism real people who have lived are worshipped, because of acts they made during their lives. They devoted their lives to others and became worshipped. Gradually temples have been made with them as idols, people worship them and treat them like gods. One day Gandhi may too have a place in temples.

no, not because there is one god, but because the definition of god is a higher being. someone or some group that is higher or more powerful than us. And how can we be more powerful than ourselves? (i.e. "gods are more powerful than humans" you are taking the word "gods" out and replacing it with the word "humans," making the sentence "humans are more powerful than humans" which just doesnt make sense)
