we've been together for over two years. we've been discussing getting married. he will mention things like "oh we'll have to remember that when we get married" after getting wedding invites from other people getting married.

he will also always say "soon" what does soon mean? my soon? which would be less than a year... or do guys have a different soon?

i'm worried because my previous relationship i was in for almost 6 years with the hope of marrage and he never popped the question. i just don't want to waste another 6 years with someone if they don't want to marry me but dont want to break up. ya know?

It's not a waste of time if you love him. I think you're being a little pushy. Don't use your pass relationship against this one. You are not being fair to him. He is telling you soon just so you can get off his tail. If he is ready he will pop the question. You don't want him to marry you b/c you force him. If you are meant to be you will be together regardless of marriage or not. Besides you've been together for just 2 yrs what's the rush?

You might want to ask him on his version of soon might mean. It could be something different than you, or he could be saving up for your engagement ring because he spotted something special which costs a bit of money. I do not blame you for being nervous about the situation given what your previous boyfriend did to be honest with you. You might want to mention it to him when you ask him about his version or idea of soon is. Good luck!

maybe he sees his married friends and likes you better as a gf. 2 years isn't too long. but 6 is, in my own opinion. So good luck i hope things work out for you.

You need to tell him that you love him and don't want to lose him
but you want to get married....You prefer it to be to him but if he does not want you, then please let you go so you can find someone else...And give him a few days to make up his mind...

SET THE DATE , OFFER A DOWRY AND PROPOSE ON ONE KNEE. THEN YOU'LL KNOW.

I OFFERED CAMPING GEAR, BOUGHT THE RING AND DROPPED TO MY KNEE. WE'VE BEEN MARRIED FOR 36 YEARS
