In programming there are alot of languages (computer command instructions). you cannot learn all of them. some of them are c,c++ vb java, j#,c# perl,asembly, fotran,etc. but the main question may be what kind of programmer do you want to learn.

for mathematical applications displaying graphs,charts etc
Fotran is the recomended lanuage

for internetworking applications(programms that can send and access recources over the network)
Java is the recomended one.

To create programms that have a very strong GUI(Graphical User Interface) VB Inclusive of visual studio.

to create just powerfull programms that can do all that you desire
C++ is the language

I would recomend you to study c++
just google c++ tutorial and you will find all that you need to become a good programmer.

First you should learn the principals of programming.I mean some basic expressions used frequently.
For example you should know what is a loop,what is it' use and more.
The most important thing to know before being a programmer is learning Algorithms and solving problems with them.
Then learning any language would be easy and not harder than memorizing their structure and functions.
