This is a great question for me to answer. I am 47 and just got married 6 months ago. I was divorced for 17 years and thought I would never be married again. I did not really know how to date due to raising my son alone for all those years and working so much to make ends meet. Then a friend of mine told me to go do things I like to do. Fishing, Camping, or Movies. What ever it is that you like to do and you will meet people that are interested in the same things you are.
There are a lot of singles dances and short trips for singles stuff like that around, you can find them on the internet in your area. I tryed the internet dating thing for awhile but trust me it is not worth it.
I started hanging out at the pier and fishing and found a man that is just like me and we are now married for 6 months and if you ask either of us we are like soul mates that were always ment to be.
Good Luck on your journey and believe me just be yourself and go do things you enjoy and it will be there.

There are a lot more options now than 10 years ago in locating a date. Singles clubs have emerged specializing in interests. Church can be a good place to meet someone. Someone even found that even the supermarket is a good spot to meet someone.

first of all, don't be nervous! just be friendly, and let people know that you're available and interested in dating. and it's okay to flirt a little too! plus, a good sense of humor helps.
