I read that guys and girls are never just friends; guys will always at some point look at their girl friends and wonder what they're like in bed, or something similar (not to say they actually do anything about it). Is that true?? What about during high school?

If you eliminate from your question the words "never" or "always", I would say you are right. In other words, guys and girls can be just friends, but the truth is that a guy is more easily sexually aroused than a girl (especially during high school). Having said that, they can be just friends (often) and it´s not true that "always" at some point they´ll wonder what their female friends are like in bed (it may be "often" rather than "always")

But I suspect the real issue is wether I guy who is attracted to a girl can be just friends with her (same the other way around)

(P.S.: I´m not a sociologist. Just a guy)

So what if a guy thinks about it? Yes, many guys think of that, possibly all. I had many friends-girls and even though I thought about how it would be, I didn't really WANT it to happen and certainly didn't do anything. And I know that many - can't guarantee for all - of THEM thought the same, too, at one point or another. There's nothing about it that would ruin or harm a serious friendship; in fact, not even having sex will necessarily do so. High school in America is too early for sex, though, given how demented the school system/parental concern is and how pathetically stupid young Americans are about safe sex and such.

That is not always the case. In high school if you look around most of the guys have wood during most of their class time, with the exception of pe. The hormones are just way off the charts.

I would say YES to a certain extent.

But I do have few female friend which our friendship already lasted 3 to 24 years, nothing happened. detail below.

2 female friends - since 1982
1 female friend - since 1986
1 female friend - since 1992
2 female friends - since 1998
3 female friends - since 2003
All above mentioned are still in contact, we are so close just like bro & sister now.

But still, I agreed, for certain girls ( not above few ) that I know I do have that kind of fantacies.

High school time, is a exploring age. That's very normal.
I was like that about 20 years back.

Just be more careful, don't say yes to all request.

Definitely not true. I mean my girlfriend started thinking about that before I did (considering she asked me out through one of my friends) and I was in high school at the time, so I think this is just a horribly inaccurate prejudice.

I have had a few women as friends, & I'll admit that I was sexually attracted to one or two of them. What stopped me from putting the moves on them? Well I decided that I valued their friendship far more than anything else, & I didn't want to jeapardize the wonderful relationship that I had with them.

Men are capable of seeing women as more than just a place to park their dicks you know.

A woman has to have masculine traits to really be only a "friend" to a guy. The more feminine she is, the less a masculine guy is able to resist her romantically. Since most females are mostly feminine, it's hard for a masculine guy to have her only as a "friend". Its a different story with gay guys tho.

Well, first of all, especially in high school, you're not talking about men. You're talking about raging hormones on two legs known as "growing boys". What do you think raging hormones have on their minds for goodness sakes?

A healthy sex drive for males can go well past their 50s.

kinda i only had two friends that were girls. The first one i kind of wondered what she would be like. The other one I haven't wondered. I guess its because she is a better friend and i have more respect for her. I don't know.

Impossible to say that as a blanket statement. Personally, I have never had a close female friend. Just not a possibility for me.
