It signs on, after a few times of clicking sign on and then says connection lost. It sucks i know my connection is working just fine. What could it be.

My OS is Windows XP, i have the newest Aim triton version and the error just says "connection lost" and i know im connected to the internet via wired connection.

This is probably just a temporary communication problem between your modem and your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Your ISP is able to keep its connection, but AIM gets disconnected. (In many cases, you won't see noticeable symptoms in your other Internet applications, such as your Web browser, but AIM requires a constant uninterrupted connection.) You should sign on to AIM again. If you are frequently disconnected, it may help to change the access number you use to connect to your ISP.

If you have a firewall - make sure the firewall has permissions to allow AIM to access the internet.
If you're on dialup make sure you don't have any extensions or adaptors on the phone line.
