You can - I actually had a "crack" which gave me an extra 10 yrs - and it worked well.
Don't use Norton though these days - wised up on that one. Symatec's home (Norton) range is a heap of bloated garbage - however, their corporate range (which is available for sale to anyone from their site) is fantastic - and cheaper!

Nortons is pure garbage for years and each an every passing year they continue to get worse. (One would think they would evolve). Nortons is a resource hog that eat up all of your memory. Plus it is really rare if Nortons ever find a virus or removes one as they still remain in your system.
You wil play hell trying to remove Nortons, because when you do, you are left with over 350 fragments in your system that will cause conflict with all your programs. These fragments are glued to all your files/folders and hidden all in your system.
I like to test antivirus/antispyware programs to see if they perform as claimed. Also to see if they have hidden embedded trojans or adware in thier software or the wizard installer used to guide you through the installation.
Nortons was a nighmare after testing and getting it out of my system. I had do go into my registry and remove all the key I could find associated with Nortons, plus use a software program that have from http:www.rosecitysoftware.com Registry First Aid to get out all of the hidden fragments.
See what happens when you go to run and type in c://program files, click on browse, click on program files and look for symantec and try and see if you can remove the file. It will say "file is being used, unable to remove. (You will have to remove all of the fragments left in the registry and your system to get this file to be removed. Plus reboot first.
Use an excellent state of the art technology that is free. http://www.avast.com As an excellent background guard that really works in real time. An you get updates two or three times per day automatic. They will ask you for your email address so they can send you a free key that is good for one year. After the year is up, you just reques a new key.
Their corporate version is the same, they just make corporate pay. So use the free home for personal use.

delete Norton from your system and go to grisoft.com. Scroll to the bottom of the screen. Under the heading, Free Security you will see a link to download AVG Anitvirus Free Edition. It is just as good as Norton but Free.

You can't. Norton can now detect illegal use of their products and will shut down your Norton program. So even ifsomeone guides you to how to "crack", it will be useless to you.
