Mine was an Ericsson in those days and it was the lightest in the market at 459gms. It has a flip antenna and slim looking. What was yours and how much it cost?

Oh yeah i remember it alright, it was a 'Transportable' phone rather than a mobile phone of now. It had a Block that was roughly the size of a car battery and a handset that was the same size as the ones that you could get in cars at the time. Rough specs were that the battery lasted 6 to 8 hours if you didnt talk at all and it took 12 hours to charge the damn thing. Never lost a signal though but you looked a right prat using one on a train or in public. I remember paying about £400 for it my contract cost £40 a month for which i got erm..... sod all! calls were charged at 50p a minute.

I have a nice pink V3 Razr now :)

no really i do...... which when you're 40 and look like a total psycho raises a few smiles :)

I had an old motorola, I think it was the first one ever produced, must have been 18 years ago now, I don't remember the model, but it was about 10" high, 4" wide, and 1.5" thick with a big black antenna. It was massive, and air time was expensive, but it was new, and cool, and got me laid more than once. However, the best phone I ever had was a bag phone, like a previous poster had, 3 watts, with a booster, when no-one else could get a signal, I always got a signal, I kept that phone for years, I think I was probably one of the last analog users for my provider, I just didn't want to give it up, that bag phone could get signal, where no digital could. But, alas, I was forced to give it up as my provider went ppure digital, I still have the phone though, stashed in the attic. I have an old nokia now, but it has a protective covering, it's for rough service, you can drop it, kick it, throw it across the room, no worries. A little outdated, but it works like a top, none of that fancy shi.t, but I have other toys for that.

Mine was a Nokia of some sort that you could change the face plate. I think it costed me 200. I got it about 7 yrs ago and it lasted 4 years till I decide to get rid of it. That phone was indestructible, I dropped it so many times but it never broke. Not much to say about my current cell phone which I replaced a few time over the past 2 years from it breaking or just being a POS.

Man, do I ever. I still have it, but only because NOBODY wants it. It's a bag phone. As clunky as it is, it was an excellent phone. It has 3 WATTS output and could be connected to an extrenal antenna. Yeah, it had analog fuzzy noises, but I was almost NEVER dropped by the carrier. This was over 15 years ago. Maybe 20.

Yes...two dixie cups with string connecting!
Oh you mean for real!
I got one in 1995. It was the size of Maxwell Smart's Shoe Phone.
Then I got one I called The Pickle. It was the size of a giant dill pickle and paid $300 for it. It was my favorite! Dropped it ONCE and it broke! Then I got an insurance replacement...I didn't like it because it didn't have a calculator on it! Then a camera phone. Now I wish I had a slide camera phone!

Yes. It was in a 1990 Volvo 740 that I had bought. My kids thought it was cool and they played with it, mostly to show it off in front of other kids. It wasn't hooked up. It didn't work. I never cared what brand it was. But it was showy, at the time. My older son had lots of pretend conversations with Michael Jordan on it.

I still don't own one. But all the rest of the family does. I use theirs, it just cheaper....
