The black hole is a necessary consequence of one of the assumptions of relativity. Special relativity rests on the assumption that there is a finite speed of causality (the speed of light). If the escape velocity from the surface of a gravitating object exceeds that maximum speed of light, then light from the surface falls back and the object will appear as a black hole in space.

The existence of black holes is predicted by the General Theory of Relativity. When the field equations are solved for the conditions of a point mass, there is a radius which defines a point where light cannot escape from inside that radius. This is called the Schwartzchild Radius, after the person who first solved those equations. If this radius exists outside the boudaries of a mass, then that mass is a black hole. This only occurs for masses of extremely high density, such as a collapsed star.

One of the implications of relativity predicts that an object with a sufficient amount of matter could have enough gravitational force to prevent anything from escaping, even light (hence the name "black hole").

Relativity states that gravity is caused by curve of space-time (four dimensions), much the way (three dimensionally) a marble rolls around a grooved area. This expands on Newton's theory, which merely established that mass caused gravity.

great question :) the dating between G-d and the Jews is an exciting one. for occasion, in case you examine the Torah, you will see that the Jews are actually not afraid to argue with G-d! If G-d makes a determination they disagree with, they attempt and convince him to alter his recommendations! There are a number of examples of this interior the Torah. This in turn illustrates that the dating between us and G-d isn't one among shock; greater, that's interior the character of a settlement, and one that the two sides are honour certain to uphold. G-d presented the eternal covenant to all the countries of the international - yet all refused to settle for it unconditionally. merely the Jews agreed. In return, by using fact the Jews chosen G-d, G-d then 'chosen' the Jews to consistently stay actual and in no thank you to worship the different deities, nor every person different than G-d. it is substantial to undergo in recommendations that the covenant is the two eternal and UNconditional. In different words: it can't be revoked nor broken nor replaced. So whilst some - no longer all! - yet some Christians insist that there is a 'new' covenant which a fashion or the different invalidates the covenant between the Jews and G-d, it somewhat is merely untrue. yet another key element approximately Judaism: each and each Jew has a very direct and private dating with G-d. we don't ever ought to pass by way of an middleman, with a view to recommendations-set G-d. The Rabbi may lead the provider yet he's quite different from a clergyman in this admire - the Rabbi isn't an middleman between the persons and their G-d. As Jews we admire G-d, we worship him, we regard him with awe - yet we are actually not petrified of him and traditionally, we have not been afraid to talk returned each and every so often!! there is an thought in Judaism that the Torah is G-d chatting with us, and the Talmud is us, answering! additionally, the certainty that G-d spoke to a huge accumulating of Israelites at Mount Sinai, potential that our faith advantageous factors a countrywide revelation. It grew to become into no longer a case of only one individual listening to the observe of G-d - all the Israelites did! desire this facilitates to respond to your positioned up :) EDIT - merely to appropriate an until now answer: we don't 'reject' Jesus from now on than Christians 'reject' Buddha.

With a name like Einstein, I would have hoped that you would be telling me!

Black holes were predicted by your General Theory of Relativity. They were only observed (well, actually you can't "observe" a black hole, since by definition it is BLACK, but you can observe the symptoms) after your General Theory of Relativity had been published. Your Special Theory of Relativity does not deal with Black Holes.

I hope you recover your memory soon!!!
