He never was good. He never really had great ball control, threw balls, headers, speed, and defense. His main attributes were set pieces/crosses and good looks. He was the leader of the team in Man-U but now at Real, he's not. He's not the best player on his team anymore so his weaknesses show more because of all the other players around him. He's also past his prime.

It is simply because he is getting older. And u have to be very quick if u are a wing player. David was quicker when he was younger. But now he can't run as fast as he did before. That is why he is getting worse. He is also out of form. That happens to every players in all sports. This is a temporary problem. We can hope that he will find his rhythm soon.

He wasn't that good in the first place. If not for his long passes, crossing and set pieces, and good looks, he would be no more than an average player.
His off-the-field life has affected him. He no longer puts his heart into his game since he married Posh. Just ask Alex Ferguson.
