It recognizes CD's that have stuff on them, but it won't recognize a blank cd. Help!

Go to Start, My Computer, and right click on the CD drive letter. Scroll to properties and if it shows the disk is full (the circle will be filled with blue) then throw out the CD as even if it is truly blank if you have tried writing on it then many times the CD is no good and you have to start with a fresh CD. I have had many CDs show as full of data when there wasn't actually anything on them. That's just the way it works sometimes.

if u have a cd-rw drive u should be able to rewrite on it but if it wont recognise it then most likely u have cd-r drive so u need to put a new blank cd in it

make sure you are using cd(r) or cd(rw) cds .. ur cd rw drive maynot support . cd-r cd -rw cd + r cd rw+

right hit on start hit on Explorer All users > hit on control panel
then hit on performance and maintenance ,>Administrative tools > services look in list for

IMAPI CD-BURNING COM SERVICES

hit on that then hit on start . then right hit on

IMAPI CD-BURNING COM SERVICES

hit on properties
in the startup type box . hit on the tab .and set to manual

hit apply & ok

then hit on start .. run .. type in

msconfig

hit ok

hit on the services .tab look in list for

IMAPI CD-BURNING COM SERVICES

make sure it is check marked if not place a tick in the box
hit on allpy & ok
then restart pc . when pc is back at desktop ur see system box load on screen . just

check mark dont show again . hit on ok then put cd( rw) cd in drive . then right hit da drive., hit on

Explorer
then move da files u want to burn on cd to the drive open window

when you have them there ur see them with a + on them

at the top hit in

file write these files to cd . then put in name of cd like my files 1
then hit on ok
they will burn to cd when done the cd door will open remove the cd

then close off the open window dont save log report you dont need to .. if cd still dont work having done this then ur have to have it check out .

it cant recognize anything if it is plank burn something on to it and it will recongnize it hope i could help if thats what i think u meant

maybe your Cd burner is a dumb a s s or it might have amneisa
