You must sure the role of wife-mother and father-husband. Both these members are most important members of the family. When both of you are busy for their respective jobs or professions, they can hire someone to handle their household works like care taker for the house and kids to maintain the good standard of living. If you delegate to the wife to be at home how should she continues doing her job and she will lost her job if not attendending officeworks as needed by company and not good to lose a job considering the wages she is earning? Likewise, a husband who is only a mare janitor, who is suppose to earn much more than his wife, because he is the head of the family. It's an insult to the husband to stay at home and do all houseworks. Gap will created between this couple who is dominant. It must be the same equal rights to perform their roles as family needs them. Only a division of works/responsibilties.

Both of them. Raising children is a two parent job if you want well rounded emotionally stable children. Not saying it can't be done as a single parent; just that, if that's the case than the single parent should ensure the children has some kind of meaning full companionship with the other sex; be it, a uncle or aunt. Now days; the amount of money either parent makes should not be a factor in rearing children. What's important is the love, attention and affection of both parents. compromise of time may be needed but; never, a majority in a parental status.

Some might assume that because the janitor makes less then the bank president the he should stay home. But some might say the woman is usally the one that stays home.

I say who ever is the one that is more comfortable staying home should be the one that does it.

Neither, thats why day care centers and after school programs are always good to have such as the boys and girls club and at some day care centers the children can be picked up as late as after 6 or at 6 pm.Also some day care centers offer after school hours for older kids.
