Robert Pershing Wadlow (1918-1940) had a height of 8' 11.1" is considered as the tallest man on the record.
For living contenders Ukrainian Leonid Stadnik who is said to be about 8ft4" (yet to be confirmed by Guinness) and is still growing, will probably beat out Robert Padlow.♥

The tallest man in the world is Leonid Stadnik or Stadnyk of the Ukraine who is 8 foot 4 inches or 2.54 metres as at 2004 and continues to grow.
