Yes it does. Using computers puts a strain on your eyes.... contributing to the deterioration of your eyesight.
However, there are things that you can do to reduce this strain. These articles give some recommendations:

its because of too much time looking in front of something, anything. Without counting in the radiation immitted by your computer screen (because, well, we are under radiation effects everyday of our lives anyway), your eyes have muscles that allows your pupils to contstrict and dilate. These muscles get tired too when put under heavy stress, as in when your pupils constrict all the time to block many of the light waves that constantly come from your computer screen. The surface of your eyes also needs fluid lubricant to stay in shape and that is the purpose of your blinking. When you are in front of a computer or tv screen, you blink less and the surface of your eye (i forgot what its called) gets dry. Those are some of the reasons why you feel tired.
As to affecting your vision, im not sure how exactly it works. But im guessing because there are also strands of muscles that allows the lenses in your eyes to contract and expand accordingly when your shifting you focus of sight from long distance to short distance (focal length variation), and when you spend too much time focusing on a near object, well..you become short-sighted.

Doesn't bother me. Then again, I'm used to it since I tend to sit at a computer screen for 95% of my awake day.
