I am just about to graduate from college. If I get a job on a cruise I will probably make close to nothing, but I am looking for a cool experience. Any other ideas for a cool experience where I could make more money and travel?

My freind is a butler on norwegian cruise lines. He makes squat but has seen more of the world in a year than most people see in a lifetime. He's got tons of friends in wild cities and his home port is in Hawaii. He probably will settle down someday but he's still young now. I'd go for it.

Read some of the material on cruise lines.
a) 1.5 customers to a staff person. Granted some of these will be cooks and hopefully the captain...but do you want to be the full time servant of maybe 10 people = at their beck and call?
b) In addition to all the cruise work, the crew puts on evening entertainment.
A friend works for a c.line and rec's 2 week cruise a year. You may want to stay front office.

Do it, I worked on a cruise ship and it was the greatest experience ever. I got to travel meet new people and everything is pretty much paid for. You should definately go for it. They do work you pretty hard though, be prepared for 12 hour days depending on what you do on the ship

You should definitely give it a try... I know a girl who worked on a cruise line as a dancer in a Broadway show they had in the onboard theater - she loved it, and got to see Norway and the Carribbean... a once in a lifetime opportunity...

Go for it!
