Myself I can make a sailor blush, but that's just me. I've settled down a whole lot since I had my baby though. We swear for the same reason men do, and my advice to you is, if you're too good for a woman that swears, find one that doesn't. And by the way, it doesn't mean we are any less intelligent, it's just a choice of words. And it doesn't mean we have little or no education.(by the way the person who said that should learn how to spell no, before they put others down, especially when spell check is provided). And I didn't have a bad upbringing either, my parents never swore. It's mostly just a bad habit. Most men I know, don't care one way or the other.

It could be for any number of reasons, maybe she's seeing if you're really listening to her by seeing your reaction when she lets the odd swear word slip.
She could be frustrated and wanting to show her frustration.
She may be uneducated (though still intelligent) and just may not know the alternative word for what she is trying to express.
She may have just spent time in the company of someone who has a swearing problem and temporairly picked it up from them.
She may not realise that this is not acceptable behaviour, so maybe you should politely point out that you don't like this sort of behaviour.

It depends on the environment. I spend a lot of time around military men and managed motorcycle shop for a long time. There were times that I had to swear to get them to listen to me. Females typically only swear when they're in male-dominated environments and need to be looked at as "one of the guys" instead of a delicate little flower just waiting to be plucked.
Unfortunately, some females do not understand the concept of time and place and drop F bombs like they're going out of style. I typically subscribe to the "When in Rome" adage.

Why does ANYONE swear for no reason? I feel the same about a man who does it. It makes me think of them as having a "high school" mentality. Sort of - "Don't I sound so cool?!" It seems to be so widely accepted today because we've become conditioned to it through what we hear on tv and in the movies. It's a shame really.

The question in general is kinda sexist. A woman or man swearing is degrading. That would be people in general with little to know education and poor upbringing by their parents. But you also overestimate yourself.

Does this bother you just as much as when a man curses? I understand you not preferring this language, but don't assume that someone who curses (especially a female) does not have integrity or a sense of worth.
What you are not realizing is that not everyone sees cursing in the manner that you see it. Therefore they don't see it as so offensive and don't mind using it. That doesn't make them heathens or any less important than you.
I personally am highly educated and consider myself to be of substance and to have a good sense of worth. But I use all kinds of vocabulary from extensive complicated words to curse words. I try not to curse around those who may be sensitive to it, but I just see those words as just that... words. I don't think it's a big deal and I don't think being hung up on it gets anyone anywhere. So please, I hope you hold everyone equally accountable for their cursing, whether male or female. i also hope you realize that those who curse aren't worth any less than you.

Profanity in my case was a learned behavior. Which I have all but broken. Why do we men and women swear at all. It is just filth.
Some people do it to sound tough especially black and the MF word.
To me it makes them look and sound stupid. And shows a lack of vocabulary.

Why do males swear?
I don't swear, but it seems everybody I'm around does be it male or female. It seems pretty even.
