What are the new techniques and inventions that resulted from the HGP?

Not sure of techniques and inventions, but one problem so far is that even though we've got this really detailed "map" of the human genome, we still do not know what all the parts and configurations mean. In other words, imagine a very accurate, detailed map of your hometown without any letters or writing on it--i.e. no street names, etc. Now, give someone who has never been to your town/city that map and tell them you'll meet up with them and provide them an address and street name. The map isn't going to do them much good in finding their way around, is it? But, it IS a nice and detailed map...really pretty ... and pretty useless at this point.

Yes, some[ but very few] parts have been figured out, but that's a very low percentage of the whole genome.
