FDA coverup?

Question

Someone told me that many members of the FDA are former lobbyists for beef and other meat companies.
Is this true?
There was also a coverup recently when a man died from alzheimer's but there was some evidence of mad cow disease also.
I guess the FDA didn't want the public to stop buying meat.
