Ok, So I decided it is time for a change in my life, and while I am young I decided that I should up and move. The only problem is that I have no idea where I want to go. I want to live downtown somewhere, but not in a place that is overly expensive like LA or NYC. If anyone lives somewhere cool please let me know where it is and what you like/dislike about it. Thanks for the help!!

Austin, Texas!

The cost of living is not high in comparison to California, and although you're in a city, it's still cozy. I think it's a great place to live. It's so full of personality.

If you like to go out, there are streets dedicated to that sole purpose. Sixth Street is known nation-wide for its bars, but Fifth and Seventh Streets are teeming with them as well.

Half an hour away is San Marcos, with what I believe is the largest outlet mall in the nation. They have Nike, Lacoste, Neiman Marcus--anything and everything you can imagine.

South Congress has its own personality and is a very cute area to go shopping or to get your hair cut.

Austin is known as the Live Music Capital, so chances are your favorite band will come through here (or started here). Annual concerts like Austin City Limits (ACL), South by Southwest (SXSW) and the Austin Reggae Festival are just a few of the perks to living here. There are a ton of venues hosting every kind of music, so you'll never get bored!

The University of Texas is home to the #4 football team in the nation (#1 last year!). The athletics program is amazing and we have great teams in football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and softball--so there will always be something for you to watch.

Also, although Texas is hot, Austin has a nice climate. It doesn't get as hot or humid as places like Houston and usually has a nice breeze. Since it has hills, it also has a scenery much better than other areas of the state.

I'll try to think of anything else to add, but keep Austin in mind.

I love Downtown denver and it's affordable. (this is where I live and I like it because it's a great city for 20 somethings, i love the weather here, and it's close to the mountains)
Chicago is really awesome but slightly more $$$ (i'm moving here after J and I get married, I fell in love with this city as it is hip and fun, but i hate the humidity and the cold cold cold winters)
I'd live in Seattle in a heartbeat i almost moved here I like the rain and the city is so beautifl, The food and atmosphere is wonderful, and going up north to walk along the beach or to head over to canada is super fun,i'm not sure what i dont' like, but i'm sure you'd love it)
And, I actually heard that Boise Idaho is fun... who would have thought? and i'm sure the price is right. (one of my girlfriends moved there got a great job and has tons of fun in the downtown area, it's a happening place with beautiful country side)

I'd stay out of the south-hot and trashy
Backeast is too crowded and way to expensive!

I just moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. I like everything so far. It is a little less than 2 hours from the ocean and about 3 1/2 hours from the mountains. It is about 300,000 people, easy to drive in, very scenic, lots of beautiful trees, pines and lakes, state parks, etc. People are wonderful. Summer is humid but winter is snow free and mild. Crime is not high and it is a nice place to feel comfortable in, oh and rents are not high.

The U.S. is an incredible place to stay. in spite of the indisputable fact that I even have on no account been to italy, so i could no longer say for effective. California isn't all "baywatch" such as you will possibly think of from seeing it on television. however the climate is superb all year around (for the main area). The housing marketplace in California is amazingly uncontrolled genuine now. so it incredibly is advisable to attend while you're making plans on procuring a house. i might propose which you circulate to and do somewhat examine previously you commit to shifting world extensive.
