John Kerry never said "only dumb guys in the military make it to the front lines" or anything REMOTELY like that. He said that if you don't get an education you'll be stupid, like George W. Bush.
The nerve of the neocon spin machine to turn this around and attack Kerry, when that evil moron in the oval office is personally responsible for the deaths and misery of thousands of US soldiers in Iraq and their families and friends. Either Republicans really ARE as gullible or stupid as their spin doctoring leaders think they are, or Bush is Satan. And I don't believe in Satan.

May be he was hinting that , some people who never got to wear the uniform can be excused for possessing not even the min of IQ . And the Bush & party twisted this around and made a great noise out of it. Apparently the GOP has absolutely nothing else to confront the people with. Can they talk about anything positive? talk about economy?? health care?? made the world more safe?? with 650,000 iraqis murdered under their occupation , they have opened the iraq for a great recruiting place for the likes of al qaida.
Or did Kerry mean that people who went to choice universities don't think much about going and getting killed for someone else's follies???

Why do I bother.
Sometimes the smart guys make it to the front lines. That's where the most promotions occur.
I'm not pleased with HOW those promotions occur, but the facts are the facts.
Kerry's political career doesn't matter, because he's one rich mofo. If he retired tomorrow, that wouldn't cut his pay. Not too much. He is attentive to the fact that middle class and poor Americans are the only ones who actually (can't avoid to) pay taxes, and he thinks they deserve a fair shake.
Stop me when I've gone on too much...
Someone needs to explain why every dollar NOT spent on social programs NOW ends up being $100 spent on social programs (including law enforcement) later.

We can only hope but something tells me that a state that consistently elects both John Kerry and Edward Kennedy will just keep doing so. Too bad as they both cast a very poor reflection on Massachusetts.

No. His statement followed a couple one-liners all aimed at president Bush and is obviously either a typo in his notes or he just messed it up in his speech. "end up in Iraq" was referring to president Bush, not the troops.
To think that a decorated Vietnam veteran would cut-down soldiers fighting in (a very similar) war overseas is just plain dumb. Especially considering the goal of every political speech this close to elections is to attack the opposing party, and definitely NOT to say anything that would hurt one's party such as attacking the troops. Come on people, read between the lines!

Lets hope it has. He has shown what a idiot does when he tries to make points. It is a shame that someone with so much potential has made so many mistakes and still holds office.

I think he's living proof of his own blustering statement. He was on the front line himself, once, wasn't he???
BTW, I am a liberal. I can't believe I once voted for the guy...
