He may be somewhat overrated but he's a LONG way from "the MOST overrated," hes a very decent QB who just lacks that extra ounce of "magic" of say a Brady, Aikman, Farve, Elway, Montana etc.

He is a perfect match for Andy Reid, they are both just good enough to get you beat in the NFC Championship or the SB ...........

I'm glad to see the consensus say "no" to this question.
I'm a huge Eagles fan and a big McNabb guy. I realize that criticizing the starting qb is a big tradition, but maybe those in Philly would agree that this guy just gets skewered in the press and on the talk shows more unfairly than any athlete I've ever seen come through here. And, he's only had the best record of any modern qb (the Eagles last title was in 1960!) and he has led the offense with an average line, pedestrian receivers for the most part, and not much of a running game.

As great as P. Manning is in the regular season, I would still take McNabb #2 after Brady, and before Peyton.

Most overrated qb in football? That's tough...Maybe, Eli, or Plummer (even though he's not rated that high) --would it be a sacrilege to say Favre --great career, but he has not done all that much for 5-6 years now.

No way!!! That title belongs to Michael Vick! McNabb is a fantastic QB. He's a playmaker. He takes an offense that no one thought would make it and made them the #1 offense in the league. The guy makes mistakes. He's human. The Eagles went through a little bit of a slump in the last few games... so what? There were a few years the birds started out 4-3 and came back to have at least 11 wins and go to the NFC Championship. This happened more than once. Donovan McNabb is one of the elite. He is having a career season and very well could be MVP this year. And Donovan will bring the Eagles back!! GO BIRDS!!!!!!

Not even close. That guy is a fantastic playmaker. He's a great QB really. Look at his stats, he rarely throws interceptions (so he takes care of the ball), he throws for lots of yards(great arm strength), he throws lots of touchdowns(gets it done in the red zone), does it all with or without a go to receiver (spreads the ball around to teammates), is very strong (hard to sack/bring down), and scrambles for first downs on a regular basis. And oh yeah he WINS. Maybe he hasnt won a superbowl ring, but neither did dan marino. McNabb has brought a team with an OK offense to the NFC championship game how many times? I believe its three or four. He's been in the superbowl which is even more than peyton manning can say and obviously no one is calling manning overrated. McNabb is a great qb and not overrated at all.

Absolutely not... and for the record I hate McNabb and the Eagles in general. McNabb makes some mistakes, just like Grossman did against the Cards, and like golden boys Peyton Manning and Tom Brady have done several times in their careers. Sometimes you'll just have bad games, but McNabb will bounce back, he's one of the most talented QB's in the NFL. Trust me, I hate to admit it, but his mobility is nearly as dangerous as Michael Vick's and his accuracy is a whole lot better than most (2 weeks don't change years of failure, Vick fans). He's not overrated at all, I'm just hoping he keeps making mistakes so my Bears don't have to face him in the playoffs... their loss to the Eagles in the 2001 2nd round still stings.

McNabb has additionally reached 5 NFC championship video games. Johnson can't say an identical. additionally, as quickly as T.O. left, who replaced into their to capture passes for McNabb? Kevin Curtis? precisely. And he nonetheless produced huge numbers. Please don't be an fool with posts like this. provide me thumbs down all you %; the reality maintains to be that McNabb remains a great quarterback, and a great sort of might make the case that he's precise 5 interior the league. you could no longer forget with regard to the stats.

Nope that would be the NFL Poster boy Peyton Manning. He can't get it done in the playoffs, and face it NOONE could live up to what they put him as. Even if he was a great QB he wouldn't live up to what the media tries to make him. Also put him on a team like the Patriots where you don't have the best WRs and see how he does.

No, he may make mistakes every now and then but every quarterback does, plus he plays with semi-nameless receivers and running back core who's best running back is a better receiver than running back. I think the most overrated quarterback in football is Ben Rothlisberger. I hope that answers your question.

no i think Eli Manning is, he is streaking @ best. we've seen Mcnabb take his team to the playoff 5 yrs straight and to a super bowl. Thats a little better than the qb that pretty much considered the best Peyton Manning.
